Smart Raseed: a Hindi-friendly digital bill book for Indian shopkeepers
A simple Android app that replaces the paper bill book — issue an invoice, share it on WhatsApp, track who paid, and never lose a record again. Built end-to-end by Chapterfeed for shopkeepers in Bihar and across India.
The problem
Small shopkeepers in Patna and across Bihar still rely on paper bill books (raseed/parchi). Records get lost, customers misplace receipts, and following up on dues means flipping through old registers. Most accounting apps in the market assume English fluency, GST registration, and tablet-class hardware — none of which fit a typical kirana, hardware, or service shop.
What Chapterfeed built
- One-tap bill creation — pick or add a customer, enter items, hit save. The app generates a clean PDF receipt instantly.
- WhatsApp-first sharing — receipts go straight to the customer's WhatsApp, exactly the channel shopkeepers already use.
- Hindi-friendly UI — short labels, large touch targets, no banking jargon.
- Customer ledger — running balance per customer, due reminders, and payment history.
- Offline-tolerant sync — bills can be created without internet and sync when the shop's network comes back.
- Cloud backup — every bill is safely backed up so a lost phone never means lost data.
